Stress and Entrepreneurship

Hey loves and welcome back to SimplicitCi.

I’ve been gone for so long and have been experiencing so many different things that I’ve decided to come talk to y’all  about it. This post has been a long time coming..

How’s life been for you? Hopefully good.

As you should already know (especially if you’re a supporter of mines) my stance on college. You  know that I decided to drop out after my spring semester (AKA my last post, so if you did not read it, click here).

I took a leap of faith and decided to go to Empire Beauty School for Cosmetology since I specialize in makeup and have a interest in hair. So far Empire has been fun but I’ll create a separate post about Empire because I feel like there are pros and cons that nobody warned me about.

After starting cosmetology school I quit my job and since then I’ve been trying to figure everything out. The only source of income I have is from clients that request makeup services, and then my mother and boyfriend helps out paying my bills and helping me with whatever I don’t have. I’m the type of person that hates having to wait on other people (when it comes to being a makeup artist, I have to promote and just hope that I’ll have enough clients, if any for the week) or depend on others (although my mom and boyfriend don’t complain about helping I just hate being in the predicament where I have to go and ask anybody for things. I’m used to my own pay checks and doing what I want) so I’ve been stressed out. Actually stressed ISNT the word.

Being a entrepreneur is hard work. There are days where there’s no source of income, no customers or clients and you’re left trying to figure it out. When you work a 9-5 regardless of there being clientele or not you still get paid your hourly wage or salary. That’s just not my reality. And I’m used to having my set pay checks every week so this is different for me. It’s scary.

Ive invested so much money into my makeup kit and blog but I literally feel like I have nothing to show for all that I’ve invested. Lately I’ve been feeling a lot like I wasted $2,000 and I could’ve done something else with that money. Although that may not be a lot to some, that money could’ve lasted me 6+ months. I could’ve paid my phone bill off for 6 months AND paid both credit cards off and STILL had money in my pocket.

With social media playing a big part in marketing I feel like I’m lacking in that area. I don’t know how to market in a way that’s affective for my businesses. I know hash tags are important but, besides hash tags graphics are very important. The issue with graphics is that Graphics cost money so that puts me back at square one.

Sometimes I just have no clue what to do. I have no idea where to start, and I have nobody to ask. So until I start working again, I don’t know what to do.

Now I have some questions for my entrepreneur friends that’s reading. What did you do in the times where clientele was slow? How do you budget when you have clients and what aspects of marketing do you do excel in and which aspects do you lack in? Comment below and let me know.
